Some Punk Funk.

Image
Is punk racist?   Yes?  Most especially in it's spruced up "New Wave" manifestation. Are you kidding ?   Look at some group names,  Blondie ... Hello?    Another ... The Police ... Hi hi hi ???     Lest there be doubt, "The Police" were hardly "Four Non-Blondes."   They were, believe me, three.   And trust me, they were blond.    The main thing, they shop-lifted black music (Funk, beaty, meaty, funky.  Funky "funk," and dressed it "in white face."   Not that that was anything new.   Paul Whiteman, anybody?  The "business man's bounce"?   There were the Count and the Duke, okay, but who was the "King"?   And who was the king not of swing but of ... "Rock and Roll"?   Elvis Lives Matter   ... ELM ... ECM ... for that matter, Eberhard Weber.   And a German Machine-music Band ... Kraftwerk .  Literally robots as musicians, and funk-yyyy ... it was, und...

Race is the Case.

Image
... Circle is a social construct with no geometrical meaning:     A certain type of smug individual is fond of asserting that "race is a social construct, with no biological meaning ."    Is there, exists there, a single individual who actually believes this (no, hook them up to a polygraph lie detector, millions more, billions, believe in Jesus, none actually believes this)?   Why do they say it?  What do they mean?  Once you strip away the jargon, aside from a few (ask them about "gender") they believe something like the following:  in the Platonic World there exist true circles, triangles and squares. In the real world we ask and cannot answer questions like "what is the true length of the coastline of Great Britain?"    It is a fractal, it is unanswerable.   Just as in the real world we won't in our long lives come across a mathematically perfect circle whose circumference (perimeter) is exactly equal to Pi out to an infin...

... Fabulous ... just great ...      The Earthly Sphere.   The Nietzschean viewpoint, imagined Nietzschean worm, not the great hero, is hardly one of aspirational  Erlkönig and Olympic Nebelstreif  .   This is a perspective from Earth, not from the Antiomnicause of Memes as Gods and eternal "return" like McArthur to, well, not British Isles.     Some things are undeniable, bare, naked, stubborn "facts," not "interpretations" of goings viral.   Take America, once populated by American Indians .   Now repopulated by public, very public, very visible, Indian Americans .       Romantic, Sylvan, even some groups considered "savage," a cognate of "sylvan" of xylan, "hostiles" and peaceful settled pueblo or "Apollonian" sober variety, or assortment. They were here. They were real. And like some minor planet, are exiled out beyond the "cyber" sphere into superannuatedness and trashed by unwittin...

The Iron Law of the Olympus of Memes. A Sneeze. Chris Dove.

Image
Why are the laws of fad and fashion so endlessly fascinating?     The Iron Law?    The iron laws of Memes are the, is the, a singular law at heart, the law of the pendulum swing. In 1952 was published a "future history" tale about the near future. The very near future, 1952. The premise of the hard, hardest of hard, science fiction story was that the well-observed pendulums of fad and fashion, of skirt and eyeglass, of philosophy and literary bowdlerizatory excursion, applied to larger affairs as well.   In a world of Einsteins and Galileos, and Christopher Columbuses (Christophers "Columbus") (before he was cancelled), why and how could there be such passionate hankerings after just being an ordinary normal person?    Of Magellans and Elcanos and Enriques da Moluccas?   To be nameless and faceless and merely, only, hardly uniquely, painted with the passions du jour ?   It was of course our old friend:  Nietzschean Gesundhei...

How the Move from Jung to Blackmore brings roaring back ... Nietzsche.

Image
Or at least anti-anti-Nietzsche.    This could be, well, not an imbecile move.     Here's the clinging clue:  a Zeitgeist where everything normal and natural and healthy is "cancelled." Shunned. Mocked. Ridiculed.    I won't say "crucified."   Although if it were ...     A Wortpolize i who bans every alphabet-word.  A Big Bird abject jekyll and hide the stew wick's "is" of protected categories, safely up in Heaven safe from earthly inspection. Even via spectrograph of astronomy.    Depending on what the word "is" is it might as well be a clockwork orange .    Billie Holiday singing in the rain of bowdlerizing condescension.     Nothing off-kilter to see here. Nothing untoward. Everything is toward. As if it were Mandala.    A vanishing point of nihilismaticism .

The Memes like Gods. The Anti-Omnicause Movement.

Image
As Gods.   These are not the familiar internet "memes," these are huge, Memes. What in theoretical papers had been called meme-plexes, only they can in Darwin Economy fashion balloon and wax enormous.   The quintessential selfish Meme is Islam (but in it's extreme fundamentalist/mentalist violent manifestations almost exclusively). The suicide bomber infected with it who blows himself to smithereens. This is the archetypical Meme whose boundless selfishness, it only cares about being itself spread, whatever the cost to the "martyrs," displays for all to see and know and wonder. Why? How?   So salient, God-sized Olympian Memes would be:  Islam, Communism (think of Pol Pot), Catholicism.   Think of their ritual cannibalism, the 'grokking' in fullness,    Water Brothers?   Blood brothers !!!   (via an intermediate)   In a way this is a return to the spirit "we haven't had here, since 1969," that "society made them do ...

Looking for "The Left" in all the wrong places: the Tragedy of Multi-level Role-modelling/Self-prepetuity, anima/animus/anime ... will be not.

Image
Through the Looking Gal/Lass.   The archetypes are dead. The left killed all the archetypes. Male and female were not the last archetypes, masculine and feminine, anima/animus/anime, etc. we will, as an issue, sidestep here, but still ...   They're dead .   The left (and the squishy Liberal lump/rump left in the center 'left') are desperately seeking role-models. And failing and flailing and fluctuating and singing tenor like a chorus of croaking frogs in a drying mud puddling.   The Swamp (a mirage).    The 1970s had "the anti-hero," the second half of the 2020s, the second half of "twenties,"  has the urine smell of San Francisco, the Oregon homeless hailing form "California," and the sound of breaking auto-glass and smash and grab acquisitivity.   Graffiti.   The "authentic expression of a vibrant ethnic community" and "side shows" and graffiti .   Always graffiti, but never physical graffiti. Count on it. You ca...

Donald Trump Was An Orange Herring/this Bleat/the lowest Twitterdämmerung of Hell.

Image
Charlie Sykes, in 1988, wrote a book marking him for the first time as a national personality, ProfScam he entitled it.    An Orange ... well, not "herring."   Charlie Sykes would have been the perfect gentleman to write a hypothetical book:  call it, "How the Left lost it's Mind."    Instead Charlie, old Charlie did, he wrote a different book.  I  haven't read it but I can judge by its title what it might be about.    ...                                                       Orange, yes ... but ...    Fast forward to use a trite cliche to more recent times, along with the others hot on the scent of what we deem here, "orange herring" old Charlie migrated understandably over to "bluesky."   Bluesky, home of the self-chewwing up but not self-spitting out " Blue Ouroboros (acce...

Things Without Which We Can Not Have Democracy.

Image
Pythagoreans and Ionians.     Ironically it was out of the Pythagorean Cult, and it's code of silence.  The infamous episode of Hippasus running through a bean field and his penchant for Mexican food, bean burrows and taquitos and such, being an incident that will live in infamy.   Swimming with the Fishes, drowning in the Waters.   These were the social games people play that led to discovery of a new game in town:  Democracy .     The List:   These two are a start, obviously there will be others.      Αγεωμέτρητος μηδείς εισίτω ,    Ageometritos medeis eisto,    a) geometry.   Most commonly understood it is interpreted as ageometritos types being imbeciles, economists (in Greek, "idiots" with their jargon, or "idiom". Imbeciles meaning from Latin, not having a leg to stand on yet also not even like Ted Bundy, with crutches.   We might incorrectly say "postmodernists...

The I. B., the Intellectual Bully.

Image
The I.B.:     There's a new phenomenon, once common in remote scholastic ages, the "Age of Faith," completely discredited in the Renaissance, and in bad odor through the modern age, now back,  and with a vengeance:  the intellectual bully. Billy Budd, by Herman Melville of all writers, was a prefiguration:   A foreshadowing, a foreshadowment.   It's remarkable because of how far it's gone. In an time when everything is in question, a hyper-Nietzschean caricaturization Zeitgeistsschaft-Schafe,  it is ... flourishing.   A regular, normal guy, or woe to the gal who might be in the path of the first stone, cast by the intellectually spotless, the normal guy, holds a normal common sensical, self-evident "opinion" which is not an opinion at all but a commonplace simple observation of fact, is out of the blue (it's always, I am ashamed to admit, the blue), dropped on from the sky, like a rabbit sitting stock still by an Eagle.   ...

A Story within a Story. "Chitat' Onlayn." Midasian gold, Thalesian steam.

Image
A Story within a Story.    This is a story about a story within a story. The story was one I used a translator to read as it was found on a Russian web site. It seemed for all the world to be a rip-off of a classic science fiction tale from the golden age of science fiction.   The main character was derived from a supporting character of the original, same story, different view point, alternative perspective.    His name was via translator "T. I. M. MacGroomer." In the Russian it had been alternatively expanded to something like Timofeyev Ivanovich Medvyeyev MacGroomer but in Russian alphabet, for illustration on official documents..   The setting was in a State Legislature of an unspecified American midwest location. Two political parties dominated and one was designated for targeting by a crime syndicate, complications arose when it turned out the writer writing the story was a character in the story within the story. And was ...

Flying the Ill-faded Flag/Gray Witch. Pre-Teen Pre-Tend. Be Dr. Seuss about diagnostics.

Image
Icarus:  flying with ill-faded flag-wings too close to the Sun.      An analogy that seems durable enough is with smoking, cigarettes. Who's to blame and shame the smokers? Who casts the first stone?   Susan Blackmore's "Meme Machine" is the canonical text on pernicious Memes, selfish cultural viruses who might even evolve and spread as they kill their hosts, as do selfish genes, in forms of life (all multicellular life e.g.) who have sexes.    Who spreads the Memes? By definition the cult members are irresponsible, and not responsible. They cannot help themselves.   But.    Those who claim to "care" about them are doing the exactly wrong thing:  enabling. The self-styled "allies."   They are.   They are not knowingly flying the black flag of anarchy, but we can say it is a gray area.   Their Memes are Susan Gray more Memes, not blaming the theoretician, but alluding to the moral amb...

Ill-faded Flag: Cult without a leader. Hairy Hantaeosities.

Image
Ill-faded Politics.   Setting to one side Ted Bundy-level psychopaths, who diagnostically can (and do) latch onto anything, anytime, anywhere, any way they can, we identify three sets of syndromicals in this phenomenon.   We may take them as in analogy with the three colors of natural politics such as it has been:  red, white, and blue.   First we may take in the "allies," white knights of blameless signalling and cheer-leading indefatigably.   Second, the victims , at least 98% I would just throw out as a guess, estimate, first approximation, the members of the cult for lack of a more precise term.    Call them "red" as they are hardly orange, flying the flag, with years of sunny doubtlessness and dauntlessness under their belts.   This leaves the blue, baby:  oh yeah, no leaders. What? No leader(s)? So who is true? Who is blue?   This is where our guide through the mazy wilderness is none other than Susan Blackmo...

TANSTAATT/An Orange Ouroboros vomits itself into existence.

Image
TANSTAATT.   What exactly if anything at all have we learned from the ten years of the Twilight (we)blog?   Aside from curiosities such as the Jungian itself is a new age archetype, and Stairway to Heaven was inspired not only by Jack and the Beans "talk" and the music contest of Tmolos between Pan and Apollo (judged by Midas) and the apotheosis of Hercules. What have the Romans ever done for us?    Well, in conclusion we learned there was a political landscape in America of the Red, White, and Blue.   The White were the "independents," or non-aligned, un-aligned. Or de-aligned.    We witnessed to our horror the decision (quite literally, the choosing to "bite" off) of the Blue Party, blue states, blue people, Blue America, to collectively become a "blue ouroboros," and eat itself alive.    Coincidentally there was a "blue shift" in dopplerian terms of the Red America of yore, to the orange part of the spectrum.   Viewe...
